VENTURA COUNTY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER & DONATION NEEDS
For The Farm Workers

"Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? ..."The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Matt 25:37-40

Farm Workers 03/31/07
Church volunteer teams continue to proceed into the community dispatching from Jubilee Church in Camarillo to locations in Oxnard - La Colonia and Nyeland Acres. Last week, approximately 30,000 lbs of food & hygiene items were distributed to farm worker individuals and families in need. Next Thursday we will be returning to La Colonia Park in Oxnard for a distribution, see below for more details if you would like to volunteer. Your donations continue to make a tremendous difference in the quality of life for the farm workers!

As you can see when driving the 101 freeway, additional crops are starting to come in allowing for many people to get back to work. There are still more workers than work at this point but things have improved.

1) Sponsor a food/diaper drive -- Dried beans, rice, masa flour/maseca flour, sugar and other staples are most appreciated by the Mixteco people. We also need diapers, & hygiene items. Can you fill a car, pickup or mini-van and deliver these to Jubilee Church in Camarillo? For pick up at your location, please call the ACTION Ministry Center at 805 987-0300 or send in the Contact form.

Farm Workers 03/31/072) Food Distribution -- This coming Thursday (4/05) 4:00PM, volunteers will be meeting at Jubilee to head out to Parque de Avion (La Colonia) in Oxnard to distribute additional food and other donations. If interested in participating, please call the ACTION Ministry Center at 805 987-0300 or send in the Contact form.

3) Please be praying! We will are taking a look at the potential for 3 possible church plants for the farm workers, in the Nyeland area, La Colonia & Fillmore. Pray for the Lord's direction, provision & translators (Mixteco & Spanish). Some of the workers have even asked if we will be able to provide more of the Gospel! We have been distributing bibles and are looking into resources for the Mixteco people.

Farm Workers 03/31/07Blessings & thanks to the many churches, individuals & organizations that have donated thus far, ACTION has received over $12,000 to date as well as gift cards, food, diapers & formula!  There have been "tons" of other donations as well directed to Food Share, Jubilee etc. that we are aware of.

Thank you for your time and may the Lord bless each of you this day!
