You can team up with local government agencies to provide community input to the planning process or you can be part of a neighbor-to-neighbor outreach in your community to help educate and mobilize people to be prepared to help each other. Your church facility may also be a valuable resource to the community. This is an exciting new opportunity for ministry and we invite your Mission: Engage Christians in service to the community by helping to prepare for relief efforts in the event of a disaster that results in mass fatalities and the lack of government services for a period of 1-2 months. You can team up with local government agencies to provide community input to the planning process or you can be part of a neighbor-to-neighbor outreach in your community to help educate and mobilize people to be prepared to help each other. Your church facility may also be a valuable resource to the community. And, there is an opportunity for your church to form a response team which would be certified by the County to participate in disaster relief efforts. ACTION is encouraging churches to have a point person for coordinating disaster relief efforts with other churches and agencies.
